News Item: : Coach Jen McRae Wins Womens Race at Lago Vista

This past Sunday, Jen McRae got her first win of the season in Lago Vista. The strong women’s field was splintered by many attacks throughout the race, but a strong lead group was able to come together for the last lap. Team Metro Volkswagen made the first move as the group turned into the headwind, and Jen quickly joined the break. Metro Volkswagen pushed the pace for most of the lap, while Jen sat in the group waiting to make her move. With 1km to go the pace started to slow down, and the gap between the lead group was closing, Jen attacked on the last short 'popper' hill before the finish. She powered up the hill and never looked back, crossing the finish line in first place. Jen found it "disappointing to have key players from Saturday's race absent, it was still fun to pull of that move in the final k."
